The Nature of Intuition
This webinar is intended as an interactive dive into the nature of intuition. Perhaps the most mysterious, fascinating and sometimes confounding aspect of being human, it has most acutely been described as the part of ‘you’ that knows, before you do! Carl Jung considered it as something that looks then becomes an unconscious process at the end of which one has sensed something unique.
Today, noetic science is offering an ever-expanding understanding of the nature of consciousness and yielding new insight about intuition. Even so, intuition remains a largely unacknowledged part of being human, largely because we tend to live physically focused lives and it has an intangible quality difficult to observe, impossible to rationalise or prove — as anyone who has tried will agree.
Intuition is deeply personal and experienced in uniquely different ways that mean different things to different people. We may experience dreams or visions, inexplicable instances of precognition, coincidences or happenings, déjà vu, even ‘time warp’ that inspires a choice for one path as opposed to another. For some it is gut instinct, sixth sense, inner knowing, extra sensory perception. For some it is a psychic ability or power that some have, others don’t. For some, intuition is easily described as paranormal phenomenon, and even dismissed as superstition. Yet we can all likely recall powerful moments that we might describe as lightning flashes of inspiration, premonition, hunch, gut feeling, or in some other way that shine a clear way forward.
However described, we can choose to ignore them or enquire if they are telling you something important about your life. I believe everyone has the potential for sensory awareness on many subtle levels beyond the range of what might be considered ‘normal’. I consider learning to sense the power of intuition to be the single most valuable aspect of human life. I believe that for anyone willing to ‘tune in’, it is key to expanding self awareness and living a life of profound meaning, purpose and fulfilment. And, no matter how in tune with our intuition we already are, there is always untapped potential to be unlocked!
About Andrew Solomon
Andrew Solomon is a former corporate lawyer, ACA member, ASCH Honorary member, and contributor to Hypnotherapy Today. He is a lifelong explorer of the big life questions.
As a child trying to make sense of family conflict, then through a spontaneous out-of-body experience, this became a relentless search for answers. His healing journey has taken him across the globe, studying the mind-body-spirit connection and nature of consciousness with some of the great teachers.
He has facilitated self-awareness groups and workshops for many years, many of them centered on the spiritual psychotherapy of A Course in Miracles. He has worked as a counselor on Quest for Life Foundation programs and now as an intuitive counselor in Melbourne. He brings to his work a deep appreciation of the existential nature of psychotherapy, energy healing, and metaphysical reflections of ‘dis-ease’.
